Rescue Story

Miro was rescued by our partner, Beagle Rescue Network, from an animal hoarder in South Korea.

About Him/Her

We were amazed how this little boy breaks out of his shell every day to make progress. First day, he was not moving at all, staying inside the kennel in the foster home. Next day, he made a quick trip from the kennel for potty business. The foster mom decided to walk him to let him know the outside world is enjoyable. Miro sat and didn’t move whenever strangers passed by. But the foster mom didn’t give up on him. She scooped him up and walked a bit and then put him down on the street to encourage him to walk. After 5 days, he started to love walking and learned that strangers are not dangerous. Now he starts wagging his tail and even tries to sniff people when they pass by. He made big progress within a week. Doesn't he sound brave and a quick learner?

He prefers female adults but he is slowly warming up with male adults as well. He is mostly ok with children unless the children scream when they play. If that happens, he tries to run away from the source of the loud noise.

Also with walking, he quickly built a bond with the foster mom. He follows the foster mom everywhere inside the home. He waits for her to finish washing dishes. He is a mellow, calm and gentle boy who loves walking. He doesn’t make any messes, and he doesn’t have any separation anxiety. He didn’t bark while he was alone for 8 hours at home. He is cautious with loud noises and unexpected big movements, but I am sure he will learn quickly that it is not a threat for him and the world is safe. This loving and gentle boy often asks for tummy rubs. Doesn't he sound like a good companion for you?
